"Mona Lisa Through Glass": The Louvre Museum's First Virtual Reality Experience
Mona Lisa: Beyond the Glass is a Virtual Reality Exhibit that allows guests to interact with the painting in an incredible, immersive way. Guests will get to submerge themselves in the world of this famous painting by entering into a new, unique environment and experiencing the artwork in a whole new light, having access to get up close to the picture after traversing through the glass barrier.
Participants of the exhibition Mona Lisa: Beyond The Glass can explore hidden aspects of the world’s most famous artwork, the Mona Lisa. Visitors will learn about recent scientific discoveries about how Leonardo created the painting and new information about who the model might have been, allowing them to better appreciate the captivating and mysterious Mona Lisa.
This one-of-a-kind retrospective will provide a look into many facets of the artist's life through a unique virtual reality experience. In collaboration with the curatorial team at the Louvre, the new VR experience promises to give people all over the world a new way of thinking about the Mona Lisa. The VR home version will be available through HTC's VIVEPORT digital subscription service and other online VR platforms, making it possible for people from all over the world to engage with the Mona Lisa: Beyond the Glass.
